On Sunday 5th May 2013, Waterford CRBI was tasked by Irish Coast Guard (MRCC) to assist a 65 Metre tall ship with 51 persons on board which had gone aground in Waterford estuary. Two rescue boats launched at 4pm and arrived at scene and assisted Rescue 117 and Dunmore East Lifeboat in operation. Vessel was successfullt refloated with assistance from tug boats , with no injuries. Crews stood down and returned to base at 17.00.
