Assistance to vessel aground and in Danger

At 1335 on 9th May 2013 , WCRR CRBI was tasked by Irish Coast Guard             ( MRCC) to launch and assist a motorboat which was aground and stuck under a jetty on the river Suir at North Warf in Waterford City with a rising tide and in danger of being sunk.   Crew launched lifeboat and were on scene in minutes , located the vessel and secured lines to it, freed the vessel  and  established a tow and brought the vessel to Marina.  It was later established that the vessel had been unlwfully removed from its berth and Gardai are investigating the incident.   Crew stood down at 1440 and returned to base.
